The ultimate guide to health & wellness hubs

At Catholic Healthcare, we know there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to ageing well. That’s why our health & wellness hubs are designed to support you in ways that are meaningful, enjoyable, and totally tailored to your lifestyle.

From friendly group exercise classes and creative workshops to balance programs and memory training, these hubs offer a little something for everyone—and a whole lot of value for your overall wellbeing.

What are health & wellness hubs?

A Health & Wellness hub is a warm, welcoming community space where older Australians can stay physically active, mentally stimulated, and socially connected. Each hub offers a variety of activities, programs, and support services — all designed to help you live life to the fullest.

What are we offering?

Here’s a snapshot of the types of programs you’ll find:

A closer look at our signature wellness programs

Two of our most popular programs—Mind+Move and Stepping On—are key to how we support wellness at Catholic Healthcare.

   1. Mind+Move: Move better, feel better

Mind+Move is all about helping you move with confidence while enjoying the social side of ageing well. Whether it’s a gentle stretch class, a memory-boosting game, or just a cup of coffee after a craft session, the focus is on your whole wellbeing.

  • Strength and balance exercises to improve mobility
  • Brain-stimulating games and mindfulness
  • Group activities that build confidence and friendships
  • Flexible programs available in several NSW locations

    2. Stepping On: falls prevention & mobility support

Designed for older Australians who may feel a little unsteady on their feet or want to reduce their fall risk, Stepping On is a 7-week program that builds strength, awareness, and everyday confidence.

  • Evidence-based program tailored for over-65s
  • Practical strategies to reduce falls at home and in the community
  • Sessions led by health professionals, with guest speakers like physios and occupational therapists
  • Encourages independence and active ageing

Together, these programs help people stay strong, sharp, and socially connected—which we know plays a big role in overall health.

Why wellness hubs are a game-changer for seniors

Wellness hubs aren’t just about fitness—they support all the things that make life full and fulfilling as we get older.

  • Physical health: Keeping your body moving improves balance, strength and helps reduce the risk of falls. It’s also a great way to manage chronic conditions and improve energy levels.
  • Social and emotional wellbeing: Whether it’s a trivia afternoon or a shared laugh during a workshop, staying connected helps fight loneliness and keeps your spirits high.

  • Independence and confidence: Wellness programs help you stay active, safe, and capable—so you can continue living life your way, with just the right level of support.

“Loved the exercises and having someone professional to show us how. I have seen physiotherapists before, but this was better!”
     Margo, Stepping On Client
